 It looks like yet another version of the YouTube app is rolling out to

 It's not a huge update at first glance, but maybe there's something 
beneath the surface.

The first really obvious visual change is a slight reorganization of 
the slide-out navigation menu. If it wasn't pointed out to you, you 
might not even realize. What to Watch is now at the top of the list, 
followed by a link to your subscriptions. The drawer now only opens if 
you swipe from the edge, not just in the main app UI. The channels and <em>My Subscriptions </em>also have a new tabbed interface.</div>

If you haven't heard of OmniROM, it's a new family of custom 
ROMs that's quickly gaining steam among Android power users and 
enthusiasts. Well-known developers Chainfire, Dees_Troy, and Xplodwild 
are on the dev team, and they aim to offer both a solid, compatible ROM 
and a host of custom features that aren't available on stock or AOSP 
builds. They're also striving to deliver nightly builds that are stable 
enough for end users to rely upon during the day, and they encourage bug

Back in April, I said that BLU "is a company to keep an eye on moving forward." A few months later, I reviewed (and loved) my first BLU device: the Life Play. Since then I've also taken a look at the Life View

In fact, the first thing that I noticed about the Pro is just how 
damn solid it feels. At just 6.9mm, it feels ultra svelte, and the 
all-aluminum exterior really gives it a premium feel. It's mostly black 
with a few chrome accents, which really pop and give it a very classy 
look. Where the Life Play is for those who want whimsical and fun, the 
Life Pro is definitely for those who want for a refined and polished 
look. At 165 grams it's a bit heavier than the Nexus 5 or Galaxy S4, but
 at the same time I'd actually say the materials used give it a 
higher-end feel than both.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The overall design is a little different than other devices I've 
used, in that the volume rocker and power button are both on the left 
side one just below the other. It's a little strange to adjust to at 
first, but I got used to it fairly quickly (and it's pretty rad to take 
screenshots with just one finger). That said, I did end up trying to 
turn the display on and off with the volume down key more times than I 
care to admit. It also uses a full-size SIM card, which is a little 
weird since most other devices use micro or nano at this point. Still, a
 minor complaint, and nothing that a SIM adapter can't fix in a snap.</div>

The Pro is a little more powerful than both the Play, View, and One, 
as it's sporting a 1.5GHz quad-core chip, as opposed to the 1.2GHz chip 
found in the other three Life devices. This seemingly slight bump in 
speed actually makes a tangible difference in snappiness, which helps 
affirm the <em>Pro</em> name. Unfortunately it still only has a single 
GB of RAM, but like other BLU devices that I've used, it doesn't 
necessarily affect performance. Still, 2GB would be nice – good thing 
BLU <a class="external" href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151864051156605&set=pb.371974171604.-2207520000.1384980079.&type=3&src=https%3A%2F%2Ffbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net%2Fhphotos-ak-frc3%2F892628_10151864051156605_610889594_o.jpg&smallsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fscontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-prn1%2F1236438_10151864051156605_610889594_n.jpg&size=1612%2C1612" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">has one in the works</a>.</div>

Also keeping in line with BLU's other products, the Life Pro has an 
absolutely gorgeous display. For me, this was the standout feature of 
the Life Play and Life View, and it keeps going with the Life Pro. 
Despite being only 1280x800, it looks absolutely fantastic. Color 
reproduction is vibrant and immersive thanks to BLU's Infinite View and 
Nex Lens technologies, and everything really pops off the screen without
 being oversaturated.</div>

 which I reviewed a few weeks ago. Color reproduction looks good, and 
it's capable of grabbing some pretty solid images, especially outdoors. 
Like most smartphone cameras, it's not the greatest indoors or in 
low-light, but it'll work in a pinch. The five megapixel front camera is
 also on par with the Life View, and comes in quite handy for snapping 
your next selfie.</div>

On the software side, Blu has stuck with minimal modifications to 
stock Android 4.2.1, much like with the Life Play/One. It still has a 
very stock look and feel, with useful additions like lockscreen 
notifications, battery percentage, a reboot option in the power menu 
(seriously, Google – why isn't this a stock option by now?), and a few 
other little things here and there. It's clean and runs really well.</div>

Like with most Blu phones, the cost is one of the main selling points
 of the Life Pro. At just $300 off contract, the Life Pro is quite the 
deal for anyone looking to buy outside of the Nexus line. Simply put, 
it's a low-cost phone that feels and performs like a high-cost device.</div>

Overall, I'm quite impressed with the Life Pro. It's a solid entry 
into Blu's Life series, and definitely lives up the Pro name. The 
performance is slightly better than other Blu devices thanks to the

The user interface gets a fancy new slide-out menu, accessible from

Google is in the habit these days of 
selling extremely well-priced mobile devices like the new Nexus 5, but 
the same cannot be said for the accessories. Cases and chargers are all 
more expensive from the Play Store than the third-party alternatives, 
but sometimes it's worth the cost. Last year's Nexus wireless charger 
was one of the few Qi-compatible units out there, but the same cannot be
 said this year. Google's updated Nexus Wireless Charger comes in a 
little cheaper than last year's at $50, and it has some cool features. 
Let's see how it stacks up.

Design</h3>

The Nexus charger is tiny, I mean it's really tiny. It's a small flat
 block 60mm (2.36-inches) on a side and 12.5mm (0.5-inches) tall. The 
sides taper into an even more narrow base, which really makes the whole 
package seem that much smaller. Just telling you how small it is doesn't
 do it justice, so here it is with a standard US quarter on it.</div>

The base of the charger is grippy – a little like the charging 
surface of the 2012 wireless orb. It feels like the rubber cup on a 
dashboard mount and it sticks to any smooth surface, like for example a 
desk or nightstand. The plastic cover you remove from the bottom before 
use makes it clear the surface can be reconditioned with a little water,
 but a solvent cleaner will prevent it from sticking.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This things sticks incredibly strongly – I've had it affixed to the 
same spot on my desk for a few hours, and it takes a lot up upward force
 to free it. Giving it a little twist helps it along, though. If you're 
having flashbacks, you probably have the old Nexus charger. It's a 
similar maneuver to freeing the Nexus 4 from the Orb, but in reverse. 
Ideally, you won't be moving the charger around too much.</div>

The charging surface is very smooth and shiny, with a faint Nexus 
logo in the center. The unit comes with a microUSB charger that has a 
slightly blocky plastic surround on the plug. It slots into the port on 
the charger snugly and is easy to disconnect for plugging into a device 
the old fashioned way.</div>

Does It Work?</h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The reason for the sticky bottom is that this unit has a fairly 
strong magnet in it to hold your device in place. When you lift the 
phone or tablet up, you don't want the charger to come up with it. This 
was one of the issues with last year's model, but it's effectively 
solved with this one.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The magnet makes it easier to align the device for charging, but it's
 not perfect. For example, the Nexus 7 has a larger surface area than 
the Nexus 5, but only a small segment of that space will reach the 
internal charging coils. The magnetic attraction is strongest over this 
area, so you can feel the tug of attraction guiding the tablet toward 
the right spot. I don't want to give you the impression that it's hard 
to align the Nexus 7 with the charger – it isn't. However, it's not 
magic. You do sort of get a feel for how strongly the magnet will hold 
when it's in the right spot. However, it's still possible to attach the 
Nexus 7 and have it too far off-center to charge. With the Nexus 5, it's
 much easier to attach correctly.</div>

Both the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 hold very well, but surprisingly, 
the Nexus 4 works too. It doesn't have nearly the hold of the N5/N7, and
 it doesn't seem to hold more strongly around the active wireless 
charging area of the back. So the N4 works just fine, but it's really no
 better for aligning the phone than any other wireless charger.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Because the charging surface is level with the table it sits on, you 
don't get the upright positioning you had with the old charger. 
Depending on how far away the device is, you might still be able to use 
it while docked, but it's not super-convenient. However, the wireless 
charger sticks to everything so well, you could probably place it on a 
sloped surface and have no issues – not that you probably have a lot of 
convenient 45-degree angles in your house. Because it does hold the 
phone or tablet off the tabletop a quarter-inch, you can still easily 
press the power button to turn it on.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There is no LED on the Nexus charger to let you know it's working, 
which I know will annoy some people. It was the same with last year's 
model, but I can live with this. Thankfully, it doesn't beep at you when
 a device is placed on it to get some juice, which is strangely common 
(and completely unnecessary) with Qi chargers.</div>

The Nexus Wireless Charger outputs 1.8A, which is only a little less 
than most USB chargers at 2A. A few Qi chargers can do 2A, but I think 
this one is close enough that you don't have to fret. There doesn't 
appear to be too much heat generation with the Nexus charger either. The
 Nexus 4 does get a little warm, but that phone was prone to thermal 
issues. The charger seems to work reliably about 5-6mm above the 
surface, so an average case should work fine, assuming it's not made out
 of something that would interfere with the signal. </div>

How Does It Compare?</h3>

The Nexus Charging Orb clocked in at $60 when it was released last 
spring. At least on that count, the new charger is a little more 
reasonable. Still, $50 is a lot when you consider the selection of 
wireless chargers has expanded quite a lot this year.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There are really two tiers of wireless chargers – there are budget 
units that get the job done for about $20 and are usually made by 
companies you've never heard of, then there are higher-quality chargers 
that work a little better and have useful features. The new Nexus 
charger is definitely in the second group. The build quality is 
excellent and it's very easy to use with the magnetic attachment. I've 
noticed that a number of cheaper Qi chargers actually make noise while 
operating – a faint clicking sound. Others are picky about keeping a 
device at or near 100% charge. This new Nexus unit doesn't seem to have 
those issues.</div>

As for the price, $50 is a lot for a charger. With that said, the 
Nexus Wireless Charger compares well to other high-end devices – the <a class="external" href="http://www.tylt.com/vu/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Tylt Vu</a> costs $70 and the <a class="external" href="http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-P100IJWUST2" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Samsung Charging Pad</a>
 is $60. I can't tell you to go out and spend $50 on a phone charger, 
but if you're going to go for a high end device, this is probably the 
one to get. The magnet is really neat and the unit has a very small 
footprint. I suspect it will also have better long-term utility as all 
phones are at least a little magnetic. I worry about the longevity of 
the adhesive on the bottom, but only time will tell if it holds up.</div>

You could take the view that Wirefly has a better deal here, at least
 if you're willing to wait. They're offering a free $40 prepaid Visa 
debit card if you also port your number into Verizon. But those 
generally take a while to be shipped to you (and I've taken advantage of
 deals like this where they mysteriously disappear), so I'm giving 
Amazon pride of place on this particular sale. Both retailers want just 
shy of 800 American greenbacks for an unsubsidized device, which you can
 get from a Verizon store for $700. <br />

The Galaxy Note 3 is eligible for free Prime shipping if you're a 
regular Amazon shopper, but Wirefly shoppers get free standard shipping 
with no strings attached. If you're hunting for even better deals, some 
of the carriers and resellers might have them during the usual 
Thanksgiving and Christmas sales, but $100-130 off is nothing to sneeze

Rockstar Games is preparing to take you back in time with GTA: San 
Andreas, which is coming to Android in December. This isn't just a 
straight port, though. Rockstar is doing some work to make the 
experience of playing San Andreas (which is a massive game) better on a 
mobile device.

GTA: San Andreas was by far the biggest GTA game of the PS2 era, so 
the developers have reworked the checkpoints to make it easier to 
advance. The graphics have also gotten a boost with improved textures, 
draw distances, and shadows. The game will fully support controllers 
with little to no fooling around in menus. </div>

Rockstar didn't give an exact date, but it should only be a few 
weeks. However, the title will only be available on "select" Android 
devices, including some versions of the Kindle Fire. Most of Rockstar's 
games start out with support for a few phones and tablets before
